Corner Bracket
This wood carved bracket was carved by hand and then colored. It fits into the corner of the room and was part of a larger commission of architectural carving for a California client.
The bracket is adapted from a medieval bracket and is pierced through to give a delicacy to the design. This type of painted carving has proved to be in demand for carved fire mantels, and friezes and can be used in contemporary settings. There is a wit and humour about this that wood carvers enjoy.
